CAVES OF GIGGLESWICK SCAR

A series of small but interesting caves along Giggleswick Scar above the town of Settle just off the main A65 road. The best place to park to visit these caves is opposite the old service station at the top of Buckhaw Brow where there are some small caves immediately visible. Kinsey Cave with it's large, wide entrance is less than half a mile (about 600m) from the car park. Other caves here include Cave Ha, Gully Cave, Spider Cave and Schoolboy's Cave. Many of these caves have revealed Paleolithic and Mesolithic human and animal remains.
