Delightful village in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, Slaidburn lies near the head of the River Hodder and Stocks Reservoir.
There is one pub in Slaidburn, the Hark to Bounty, a traditonal country inn offering food and accommodation in lovely surroundings.  The pub upstairs houses the ancient halmote or courthouse of the Manor of Slaidburn.
The Grade I listed church of St. Andrew has a Jacobean screen and a three decker Georgian pulpit with it's sounding board.
Slaidburn was in the West Riding of Yorkshire prior to the 1974 county boundary changes which saw the village included in Lancashire.
