BURTON IN LONSDALE
Burton in Lonsdale High Street Quiet
village in the Craven District of North Yorkshire once famous for it's
local potteries which numbered thirteen at it's peak with the last one
closing in 1944. Local farming is mainly dairy, beep and sheep.
The award winning community shop sells local produce such as cheeses, meat and vegetables. The shop also contains the local Post Office. The Lonsdale Wheelers Cycle Club which was founded in 2014 meet at 10:00am every first and third Sunday of every month at the village shop. The local Anglican church is All Saints and there is one pub in Burton, The Punchbowl Inn.
