Sedbergh and the Howgill
Fells.
The sleepy small town of Sedbergh
nestles at the foot of the Howgill Fells in the
north western corner of the Yorkshire Dales
National Park. Although associated with the
Yorkshire Dales, Sedbergh lies in Cumbria, a
result of the county boundary changes in 1974
which took this West Riding town, along with
Westmoorland, Cumberland and a part of Lancashire
into the new county.

Even on a Saturday afternoon, when
other towns are bustling with shoppers, Sedbergh
is quiet and relaxed. There are three pubs here,
the Bull Hotel,
the Dalesman
and the Red Lion. You
are never far from open space in this small town.
The Howgill Fells are well within walking
distance to the north and nearby are ample
playing fields and rugby pitches. Caultley Spout
is one of the Yorkshire Dales' classic waterfalls
in the Howgill Fells.

it's private school, founded in 1525, providing
quality education for youngsters in beautiful
