| Village 3 miles (5km) north of Kirkby
Lonsdale. Located just inside the part of
Cumbria that used to be Westmoorland, Barbon is
within the proposed extension of the Yorkshire
Dales National Park which is currently under
consultation. Central to the
village are St. Bartholomews Church and the
Barbon Inn.
The Westmoorland Motor Club meets
three times a year in May, June and July for the
Barbon Manor Speed Hill climb which takes place on
a driveway that runs through Barbon Manor Park.
Barbon nestles at the end of
Barbondale, a lovely isolated dale leading up to
Gawthrop in Dentdale overlooked by the long bulk
of Barbon Fell. Barbon
village is just outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park but within
