Skipton on the southern edge of the national park is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and has plenty to interest the visitor with it's canal and castle.  The Leeds & Liverpool Canal is described here from Gargrave to the Five Rise Locks at Bingley. For the railway enthusiast there are the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. Although not in the Yorkshire Dales National Park the iconic Ilkey Moor is featured here.
