CAVES OF MANIFOLD VALLEY Manifold
Valley in the Staffordshire part of the Peak District contains a number
of mainly small caves. Three of these caves are worth a further
investigation. Above Wetton Mill is Nan Tor Cave, an
obvious rock shelter with several entrances and a central chamber that
is open to the sky. Nearby is Thor's Cave with it's large
entrance staring out from a prominent crag. A bit further down
from Thor's Cave in the bed of the River Manifold is Ladyside Pot, a
difficult and dangerous cave that can only be explored in dry and settled weather.
