HOUGH LEVEL    Linking several of the mines together is the Hough Level.  The original entrance near West Mine is now blocked but this mile - long (1.5km) level can be entered via Wood Mine, Brinlow Mine, Engine Vein, Stump Shaft, Square Shaft or below Stormy Point.  A section of the Hough Level is in waist - deep water and canoes are available to traverse it.  Access arranged via Derbyshire Caving Club.
