At 1519 feet (463m) above sea level Flash is the highest village in the United Kingdom, a status that has been disputed by Nenthead in Cumbria and Wanlockhead in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.  Located just off the main A53 road between Buxton and Leek, Flash has a former Methodist Chapel, a friendly pub, the New Inn and a small brewery which produces a vegan beer. Just outside the village on the main road is a shop and a Medieval themed pub, the Knights' Table.
