Half a mile (800m) of passage, mostly walking size with entrance not far behind the Wizard pub.  Entrance through iron door leads to 165 feet of passage leading to chamber which was once open to the sky but is now roofed over on with concrete slabs.  Interesting network of passages branch off near here and shafts lead down to Brinlow Mine and the Hough Level. Access to Engine Vein is arranged via Derbyshire Caving Club who also operate tourist trips into the mine on open days.
