FOREST OF BOWLAND

Straddling the border between north east Lancashire and North Yorkshire is the Forest of Bowland, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty only half an hour's drive from the cities of Preston and Lancaster.
At the heart of the Forest of Bowland is Slaidburn, an attractive village nestled amongst the hills and yes, there are a few caves, Whitewell Cave and Pot and nearby is one that lives up to it's name, Hell Hole.
Much of the Forest of Bowland is within the Duchy of Lancaster Estate which includes Whitewell and it's Inn which is considered one of the finest in the United Kingdom.
