British Caving Association
The main umbrella group for British Caving. You can join the BCA as part of one of the many clubs affiliated to it or as a direct member.  The BCA provides insurance for cavers.
British Cave Research Association
A constituent body of the BCA, the BCRA specialises in the scientific aspect of caves and caving and maintains several special interest groups including Cave Radio & Electronics.
Council of Northern Caving Clubs
Formed in 1963 to negotiate access to caves on private land, the CNCC also promotes cave conservation and maintenance of footpaths and stiles on the land where caves are located.
Derbyshire Caving Association
Similar to the CNCC, the DCA provides news and access information to cavers in Derbyshire and the Peak District as well as promoting cave conservation.

Caving Clubs

Black Rose Caving Club
Small but active club in the Yorkshire Dales. They
also do trips further afield to other areas. A highly
specialised group, they often visit the more
difficult caves.
Bradford Pothole Club
One of the largest and best known clubs in the
Yorkshire Dales and indeed the UK. They provide accommodation at Brackenbottom and host the May Gaping Gill Winch Meets.
Burnley Caving Club
Friendly Lancashire based club with a high
profile on the Yorkshire Dales caving scene.
Active club with around 30 people looking for
new members.
Cave Diving Group
Specialised group diving underwater passages
throughout the UK and abroad. Played a major
part in the exploration of the Kingsdale caves
and Boreham Cave.
Craven Pothole Club
One of the oldest and largest clubs in the Yorkshire Dales. Active throughout the UK. They provide hut accommodation and host the August Gaping Gill Winch Meet. enquiries@
Derbyshire Caving Club
Major club active in Derbyshire and the Peak
District. As well as caving they provide social
events and host open public open days at Alderley
Edge Copper Mines.
Earby Pothole Club
Established in 1945, a friendly club based
throughout the North West. Meets at the Clapham
Bunkhouse Bar. Cave exploration includes a
number of ongoing digs.
Gritstone Club
Long established club specialising in rock climing
and hill walking as well as caving and other
outdoor activities. Played a major part in cave
exploration and surveying.
Nenthead Mines Conservation
Group dedicated to conservation of Nenthead
Mines. They also run public open days into Carrs
Mine and provide accommodation for BCA
members at the Assay House.
Northern Pennine Club
Major club responsible for many major discoveries
in since the mid 20th century. They provide
accommodation for cavers at Greenclose near
Clapham village.
Orpheus Caving Club
Caving club situated in the heart of the Peak District offering superior accommodation at their cottage. They do trips throughout England and Wales as well as social events. bookings@orpheus
Red Rose Cave and Pothole Club Long established and highly respected club based
at Bull Pot Farm where accommodation is provided
for cavers. A major player in discoveries and other
caving related stuff.

United Cavers Exploration Team
Friendly club based North Wales just across the
border from Chester with good connections with
other caving clubs and organisations.  Sometimes
visiting the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales.
University Of Leeds Speleological Association One of the most important of the university clubs. Comprising of students and ex-students. Responsible for much of the discoveries and exploration in the north of England   
White Rose Pothole Club
Active club caving since 1954 with monthly meets
in the Yorkshire Dales and elsewhere. They offer
"have a go" trips for people wishing to take up
Yorkshire Subterranean Society Based in Helwith Bridge, the YSS has been active in the Dales for over half a century. They provide cavers' accommodation at the Old School House next door to the Inn. Old School House,
